On November 14th, members of the OSUNO Board of Directors went before the OSU Board of Trustees. Below are highlights from President-Elect Amy Pompeii's remarks.

  • We recognize that nursing’s absence from the decision-making table is a significant opportunity for us to ensure continued success, and we hope today marks the beginning of rectifying this gap.

  • Adequately addressing complex issues like chronic understaffing and increased workplace violence necessitates investing in the appropriate nursing infrastructure.

  • No employee should have to come to work every shift fearing for their physical safety.
  • As nurses, we feel undervalued and unsupported.
  • On July 7, 2023, Becker’s Hospital Review released an article stating that Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center topped the list of longest ED visit times with a median average of 476 minutes. That is nearly 8 hours that an injured or ill patient is spending in an area of the Medical Center that is complex and difficult to staff at the best of times.
  • We are left without the resources to safely meet the patient care demands and meet the high standards expected at the OSUWMC.
  • We have had enough and it’s time for change
