UH PeriOp

Bret Apple

I have been a Staff Nurse in the UH OR for my entire nursing career since beginning at OSU in 2011. I am passionate about taking care of patients in the surgical setting and enjoy collaborating with all the different care team members that help us provide the best care for our patients. My main focus is to ensure fair and equitable working conditions, as well as being able to resolve conflicts that arise on these units. I have enjoyed collaborating with the other preoperative units over the past two years as the UH PERI-OP representative. I look forward to having the opportunity to serve this area over the next term as well.

UH Procedural

Tony Myers

Tony has been an ONA member since 1998 and an OSUNO member since 2002. He has worked in the Cath lab and is currently working in Endoscopy. Tony served as a Unit Ambassador before his current position on the OSUNO Board of Directors for representation of UH Procedural. He was on the 2019 Negotiations Team.

Francine Chiancone

My name is Francine Chiancone and I am a nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool. I've been employed with OSU since November 2007. Over the past 13 years here I've worked in the SICU and served on various committees and councils. I've also gone back to school and received my MSN as an Adult-Gero Clinical Nurse Specialist. Since beginning my career as an RN I've also worked in an educator position, then ultimately decided to come back to the bedside where my passion for nursing lies. Would like the opportunity to get more involved in OSUNO and take the opportunity to represent you.

OSUNO is a democratic organization where the members set the agenda and elect their leaders. An elected Board of Directors is made up of front-line nurses from different practice areas across the Medical Center.

Members of the OSUNO Board of Directors are some of our most vital collaborators, working with fellow members and Ohio Nurses Association (ONA) staff to improve the working conditions for our members.  Contributing your voice on the Board is one important way you can help advance our organization’s mission: advocating for our patients and professional nursing practice.

No matter your practice area or what population of patients you serve, the OSUNO in collaboration with the ONA has the tools, resources, and support nurses needed to be the best they can be and to ensure that the patients they care for receive the care they deserve.

If you’re interested in serving on the board for the 2020-2021 term, or if you know someone who would make a great leader, the nominations are open through October 23, 2020

In solidarity,

Jessie Frymyer
